Re: Saving the Workplace issue #Workspace won't save #workspace

Hi Michael,

Your best bet would be to go to the SDRPlay site and join their forum.

This one deals with SDR Console. SDR Uno is a different piece of software altogether, and you're much more likely to get the help you need there.

Good luck with it, hope you get sorted.

Will this control my NooElec SDR?

n9wys

I downloaded this software hoping it might be able to control my NooElec RB20T SDR & DVB-T USB stick.  I don’t see anything in the documentation about it, but maybe I’m not looking in the right place…

Any help would be appreciated.  I’m new to SDR radio.

Thanks,

As noted on Simons web site, SDR Console requires a Compute Capability of at least 3.0 before he will use your CUDA. The GTX465 is only 2.0 according to this link:

Hi Simon

Have an GTX 465 graphics card but CUDA is not being used but is enabled. It would appear to be OK but is it not supported or just need a newer card?

Saving the Workplace issue #Workspace won't save #workspace

According to the SDR-UNO V3 manual I should be able to save a Workplace, i.e., the size and positioning of SP1, SP2 and the VRX1.  Following the manual's guidelines, I get a message that the Workplace is saved. However, next time I open the program none of the windows come up except the main window. It's tedious having to resize and position the windows every time I use the program. Is it possible to execute command or generate notification on breaking squelch in a receiver?

Milo Medin (K6CZ)

Hi folks. I am wondering if it would be possible to use a wideband SDR like
a LimeSDR and the multiple receiver capability of the SDR console to
simultaneously listen to a number of HF channels and not just record audio
when squelch is broken but to send a notification or run a script that can
send a notification?

My use case is being able to listen on a set of MARS channels and notify me
on my cell phone when active traffic is detected so I can go to my radio and
work the traffic. This would allow me to effectively monitor the channels
for traffic without having to be in front of the radio or even be listening
to the audio.

Has anyone done something like this before?

Thx

Milo

Hey .. how 'bout that ! I listened to your QSO from down here in NC. I could just barely here the Scott ... perhaps a 3 x 4 RST.

See ya Frank.

It was made by Microsoft. If you want it, it's all yours. I bought it to experiment in the beginning & there is no way that I can use it. It takes a radio
o card, like the Ettus.
If you would like it, please PM me your address. It will be my partial donation to the cause. I have depleted the budget for a while, I am told.

Thank you for all of your hard work,
Ed

The same here but in combination with the Icom IC-7300 to have a more detailed waterfall and dual channel with two different antennas to get the most out of the received signals. Using the console will benifit my use of the combo even more due to its sublime waterfall performance. Just a matter of time until D-day I guess...

Sadly, this’ll not be in V3 which will be released on Monday.

The API will be interesting.

Simon, would this by chance be usable for the SORA PCIe card? I will guess not, but worth a try.
Never did find much about it. I do know it uses the ettus style radios.

New SDRPLAY RSP DUO attached to my TS-590SG

WA3RSL

Outstanding performance by the DUO.

I was working SSB DX on 40m last evening and I believe the DUO was edging out my 590SG on receive!
I worked a Scottish station who was running 10 watts and a wire. He was 5x7 even with the static crashes last evening.

Looking forward to the new SDR  Console software when it comes out.

Re: Sat tracking #satellites

Conrad

Sorry I must have mislead you and I clearly may not be operating this really cool software correctly! I am speaking of a known satellite say FO-29 in which there are a number of stations showing up on the waterfall. When I select one on my screen, within the satellite bandwidth, I am hoping to have that signal's changing Doppler RX frequency converted to a matching TX frequency and then the CAT automatically track the Doppler shifting TX frequency. Call it point and click where selecting a given signal would provide a linkage to the system's Doppler calculations and the software would track both RX/TX for that specific signal simultaneously as the satellite moves. I hope that makes sense. Again it well could be operator error!

Re: Sat tracking #satellites

Siegfried Jackstien

one way would be if you can use afc of the sdr soft ... canculate te offset to nominal and add that to the cat signal

but then if you use u/v or v/u you also have to add a factor ... so simon is right ... if you do not know the actual sat with its tle data the calculating doppler from a receive signal to then compensate the tx side is not an easy task (if ever possible)

dg9bfc sigi

ps but WITH knowing the sat (look what is above you in that given time of day) you can use a sat tracking soft or the tracking fuction included in the sdrsoft to calculate and compensate the doppler effect .... easy as baking cakes :-)

Conrad,

To compute Doppler the software must know the satellites Catalogue Number which in turn is used to get the TLE data (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Two-line_element_set), so the answer is no.

Is there a way to select a random RX signal from a satellite on the waterfall, have the program calculate that signal's current TX Doppler frequency, send that through CAT to the external transmitter VFO, and then have both the RX and TX track the RX station. I may have missed it but I can currently only select a station that happens to be aligned with the system calculated RX Doppler frequency and then my TX will follow it. Any other RX signals on the waterfall will not track as a unified RX/TX system and I must manually follow the signal with the TX VFO.

Hi Pat,

I’ll be releasing V3 in a day or three, when it’s out I’ll add project tracking for ideas, bugs etc. Please wait with suggestions until V3 is available as a release.

Hi Simon es all,

Yesterday, I downloaded one of the latest v3 release and noticed that one of my favourite tool is back : the data file analyser ! GREAT !

Some suggestions though :

- In the SIGNAL HISTORY window, I miss the player with controls (modes, volume, filter BW, AGC, etc). It seems that the user now must switch to the main Console interface to adjust these settings.

Also in SIGNAL HISTORY : could you please add a "shaded" button so that one can disable the "filled spectro"  to only show a simple 'line" (same as v2) instead of a graph filled with the chosen color palette.

Do you plan to add new features to this analyser or do already have its 'final' version ?

Thanks a lot.

Pat
