Re: Scheduled Recordings

Hi,
All understood:
· At the moment the filename is predefined by me, the folder can be user-defined and if it doesn't exist then there's a fall-back folder. · File chaining - there's a maximum .WAV file size of 2GB, also using many smaller files is good in case of a computer crash, software crash or disk corruption :) · 2MHz is now working @ 16 bit sample rate: http://www.sdr-radio.com/News/tabid/185/EntryId/41/SDR-IP-and-2MHz-Sample-Rate.aspx · I am working on ICOM integration, with luck available end of next week.

Simon,
Excellent work!
Perhaps this is already done and just not obvious from your teaser screenshots but having the ability to specify filename, location and optionally, frequency and time-stamping would be great. Ideally there would be no need for file chaining (as SVue requires today unless you mod the ini).
Also, since I use scheduled recordings regularly with SVue and my SDR-IP it would be of great interest to also have 2 MHz BW capability (at least for IQ local network capture) and of course external radio support for IC-R9500 and R8500).
That's all I can think of right now.

No spec. yet - apart from the recordings I'm working on the External Radio integration and endless user wishes.

I have the program, am registered and have the up-load code. Where do I enter this code? I see where it says to place this code in the status box of the on-line radio, but where is this box? Am I missing something? Out in left field? Help please!

Re: Softrock Image rejection build 277
Dom Baines M1KTA
Further.... from a note/thread on the Softrock40 group so I do not claim to be the originator of the idea... I investigated a bit more and at work I have a simple Softrock V9.0 and simple a wire antenna I can hang out of a window. The current Rocky 3.6 install (I have a number of SDR programs installed not just SDR-Radio) when configured forIQ balance auto-collect the software holds the data in a file in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Afreet\Rocky\Bal folder starting 'IQBalance this contains the values for the gain and phase for each centre frequency Rocky was used with, for this installation and
setup. These numbers do alter slightly as the SDR and
Rocky are left running. If you change the sound card leads the numbers can change. This is how on a restart Rocky will appear, if nothing else has changed to automatically have done the IQ balance every time. If you use a Softrock for TX too there is another file TxBalance.ini that contains the TX phase data as well. I might look at the data and see if it corresponds with the phase and balance with the SDR-Radio too. 72 Dom M1KTA

From: "Dominic Baines"Subject: Re: [sdr-radio-com] Softrock Image rejection build 277 By altering the phase and amplitude with SDR-Radio you can deal with image rejection for one specific hardware set up as we have already tested and that will reduce by 30dB any images but this is not always consistent when frequency changes (especially to another band). I understand that the greatest variable is with audio frequency, Christo's Power SDR-IQ gets over this by continually tuning the Si570 so there is a constant IF, 9KHz above centre is his default. The hardware setup seems to include the antenna, changes certainly make small differences to a carefully adjusted system. Is it Softrock specific? It seems to me any system like it needs compensation. it might be worth suggesting this is worth studying:Once a Softrock is properly built it will have a hardware rejection on the order of 30dB, possibly less on the higher bands. Another kit trims the audio to make it slightly better. The loosing USB connection during the process I have not seen yet. Loosing connection to a Softrock V9.0 seems to be an issue with the libusb driver & AVR Softrocks all seem to 'do this' from time to time if using Vista but not with XP, especially if anything changes on the USB bus (e.g. plug in a USB pen, or a USB drive goes to sleep).Well my system is XP. Plugging in my weather station is guaranteed to disable it. Other times it just looses connection. Maybe once or twice a day on average. I have been using the SDR-Radio server for a month or more with a counter on the Softrock so I notice it is not changing. I do not know how my system compares with others. Incidentally does the "web on HRDLOG.net" ever work ? I see others try, it makes a few wavery woo-oos and usually disconnects in less than a minute. I've never been able to use it to listen. 73 Alan G4ZFQ
