Hi,

If you post a screenshot I’ll be able to see more of the problem.

Hello,

While using B200, I am getting a centre peak (pls see the pic attached). Even if you change the centre frequency it appear there. But it's not happening while I am using SDRPlay, RTl SDR.

Can someone look into this please?

Re: SDR Radio V2.3 and Cloud IQ

Hi Chris,

Makes sense – CloudIQ isn’t supported in V2.3, also ‘my’ CloudIQ is still with RFspace.

Hello

Can I get it to connect? No way! I try manually entering the IP address in the radio setup but still no luck. It clicks and connects but nothing comes through to the console.

I also notice that external radio support is none functioning?

Chris

OK,

Today I’ll upgrade the SDRplay support in V2.3, what you are seeing is a known bug. New kit tomorrow I hope.

Simon:

Thank you for the information: I will resist the urge to uninstall in the future.

Also, making up terms like "audio crash". Not helpful, I am sorry about that.

The screenshots are attached. (#1) shows 20 meters with and signals present.

Then (#2)  I shifted via memory preset to 11670 AM.

I could have done this any way via the VFO or the radio: crash.

Then, (#3)  I shift back via memory preset to 20 meters. No change.

Then, (#4) under Radio, Stop...Select....SDR Play and I am back in business.

If instead, I go to Tools....Restart, the program restarts with a red X beside

the select radio definition for the SDR Play. That's the ONLY radio definition

I presently have.

Does this help clear us up?

THX

Have you tried different RF gain settings? I think it defaults to max, which is actually minimum gain reduction, if that makes sense.

Re: Newbie set up question

Bob

Thanx for the comments.  Maybe I will just run it thru the tuner.  I would like to listen to 160M.  The other option is to make my own attenuation pad.  I think Elecraft also makes one and some other QRP OEM's.  And I am not sure if the issue is the AM or FM BC band.  I can see the tower of a 100kW FM station from my house.  It kills some of my cheap FM tuners.  And I do have a pretty am station about 15 miles away.  I was also thinking of putting the RSP2 in another metal box.  The internal shielding in the plastic box is just a spray on.

I like the way Console shows SSB signal on the panadapter.

Very nice!

Great software coupled with a nice radio! There you go... a recipe for success :-)

Yes, I agree that is an unfortunate part of this high pass filter. But it is a tradeoff mainly due to the high end attenuation frequency ~ 1705 KHz cut off, VS putting up with what appears is a substantial overloading and any possible related IMD products generated in a receiver due to high signal level AM broadcasters nearby.

I prefer a tuned band pass filter myself, but Bob's AM band band-stop filter he has been trying seems to have worked well.

Hi All,

Here’s my 10E in action this evening in Europe. Recorded using the Windows game recorder (built into Windows 10), using a 4k Dell monitor.

Re: Newbie set up question

Denny,

It should be noted that that filter has a cutoff of 2.6 MHz, so the 160 meter band will be blocked.

If the 160 meter band isn't important to the user, that filter looks to be a very impressive performer for the price, judging by the chart on that page (55 to 72 db attenuation of the AM broadcast band).

ZOOM function in VLF with SDR-Radio V3

Bernard Malet

ZOOM function in VLF with ELAD FDM-S2 and SDR-Radio V3, 64-bit, 2017-01-08_2122

Bandwidth maxi 6.144 KHz

The zoom function does not react in the same way over the VLF frequency range

Do this
• Minimal zoom
• Display the frequency 21.760 KHz in CW mode
• Zoom to ¾ of its magnification
  Suitable image
• Reduction Zoom to minimum of magnification
The image does not want to be reduced significantly
• Must switch to AM
• Go back to the frequency 200 KHz
• Press centering of the frequency
• Enable Zoom to Max
And there, the image is reduced to its maximum, normal visor, wideband frequency.

Can you reduce this?

I had already mentioned this phenomenon, but surely, I did not explain it to you in this way.
Wishing to be clearer this time.

Best regards

Bernard

Bob may be interested in this AM band LC high pass filter just recently released: http://www.rtl-sdr.com/rtl-sdr-com-broadcast-block-high-pass-filter-now-sale/

Good specs at a modest price range too.

Hi Simon,

Using SRDPlay, so you know.

Specs:
Processor: AMD E1-1200 APU with Radeon HD 1.4 GHz
4.00 GB (3.71GB usable_
64-bit Operations sys, x64 based processor

Lower end processor, I know. Works for everything else, though. Thanks for your tirme and consideration. Jack

Hi,

Unless the V2.3 licence file works I’m afraid there isn’t.

Hi    SDR version 2.1  dated may 2015 ran on my older computer.  The updated version has problems with the slower cpu AND because of the screen background which changes every 30 minutes so does ver2.5.  Simon or anyone-is there a license extension for the older version of SDR?  I see one for ver1.5.  Tnx, Jack

Re: Newbie set up question

mcayton@...

Hi Bob,

It's been my observation that 1) the RSP2 is surprisingly sensitive to overload from AM broadcast band signals, and 2) the internal MW/FM filter is of virtually no use at all against those signals (it is, however, very effective against FM broadcast band signals).

I also suffered from strong AM band overload at my QTH on my RSP2 until I put an aftermarket AM band-stop filter inline with the coax. Voila, problem solved!

So is it possible that your Palstar tuner is acting as a filter and effectively attenuating the AM band sufficiently to allow your RSP2 to receive ham band signals again?

Regards,

Mark  KF5VQY

I had similar effects on my rsp2, I have put a 20 db attenuator in line with the antenna, RF gain 2 and -45 if gain, works great!

Newbie set up question

Bob

First post, thanx for letting me in.
I have a SDRplay RSP2 running ConsoleV3.  The RSP2 is connected to Ant A to my 80M loop antenna.

When I connect the coax directly to port Ant A,  I get a lot of spurious signals equally spaced up & down the bands and reception is pretty miserable.  But when I connect thru my Palster Antenna tuner tuned to 80M, the spurious signals are gone & reception if quite nice.  I do have the MW/FM notch engaged in both cases.

Is this typical?  Comments/suggestions?  So far I prefer Console to Uno.  - Thanx & 73 Bob
