Not really,

I just haven’t spent much time swapping over antennas and stuff. I’m not really interested in the LimeSDR for HF, more 88MHz and above and then more for satellites with rx and tx.

Assuming that the sensitivity issues get solved I may invest more time in the Lime project, but I’m stupidly busy and have an ANAN 8000DLE with my name on it currently with FedEx, that’ll be a) fun, b) a challenge and c) great fun!

Well it looks like it is just that Simon does not know how to bloody well use SDR Console

A quick update:

Lime engineers have done tests to compare v1.2 and v1.4 hardware — using @SimonG4ELI's software — and found no difference in performance. If anyone has both those hardware revisions and is seeing a difference, all we can assume is that there is a configuration error.

Performance with v1.4 boards should be the same as demonstrated with v1.2 boards during the campaign.

A more detailed update, with measured performance and recommendations for optimising the performance below 100MHz, is forthcoming.

Re: Re-order receivers?

Simon Brown

John,

Shouldn’t be a big problem, re-ordering would also shuffle out any unused receivers, for example if you have RX1 … RX5 then close RX 3 and re-order then you have RX1, RX2, RX3, RX4.

Hi, all,

If I have several receivers open, is there any way to re-order them
(possibly, but *not* necessarily, into frequency order).

I'd be happy with either being able to do this directly from the
'Receive' tab or, having saved the set as a Favourite, within that
Favourite entry.

(I found the sort-by-frequency button on the Favourites/Organise dialog,
but that only seems to allow re-ordering favourite entries, not saved
receivers within a single favourite).

Simon:

Thanks very much for all you do.

I will look for a new V2 Build 27----- and take it from there.

I thank you for confirming that "bug" before I get into real trouble. Guys like me should not

be "in the registry".

I believe the best for me is to do the uninstall and start anew and I read here I can also download

the V3 and become familiar with that.

Weekend coming, hope to see then new file and move on it.

Hi All,

Below is a link to a V2.3 kit which fixes the crash – or at least a crash I discovered. It has built-in keys which are good through to June 2018.

Please report all bugs here and *Please* put V2.3 in the bug report subject line.

I reported the problem as soon as mine arrived on January 23rd.....the definitely knew it had issues before Feb 8th, they had not done any real world testing with antennas, just signal generators by the looks of it, probably cranked to the max to get a signal :)

Hi Simon,

I have always looked at the Lime as being for VHF and uW at my station hence my comments about the Lime always contained positive points. My view on the Lime is not negative I just wanted the HF guys not to sit there for 24hrs staring at their screens trying to work out what they did wrong.  For those who ordered one for HF they may be interested in the following which is from an email yesterday from Crowd Supply.
I was in touch with the team earlier today about this very issue and
they are looking into the reported change in frequency range. Their
initial guess that the report is incorrect due to some sort of set up
error and they intend to update all backers with their findings soon.
They only found out about this report yesterday and are working
quickly to get to the bottom of it. Your order is likely to be shipped
in by the end of next week, if not this week. If you'd like, we can
hold your order until the LimeSDR team posts their update. Of course,
it's not a problem to cancel your order now as well. Please advise.

I am not 100% sure of how it reads but it seems to say that Lime did not know people think that it has a, let's call it a HF problem, until the 8th Feb but the good news is that Lime think it is user error rather than anything to do with the Lime.  This is good news as user error is an easier fix than a hardware change.

RE where to mount your Lime. I have been running a FCD+ over 200ft of CAT5 in order to minimize coax loss and am very happy with the results.

And,

Some people are very happy – looks like it’ll be an excellent receiver for 1.2GHz and 2.3GHz bands. Transmit support would not be too difficult, I have other areas of code that I must finish before I add Lime transmit support. For sub 1GHz it looks as though a small matching network will have to be replaced. (For hard-core HF the new (tease) receiver that’ll be out this summer will be unbeatable – 130dB dynamic range at ~$159.)

I’m thinking about mounting the lime under a log periodic and putting a USB3 <-> 10GigE device in the box as well, or running ultra-super-duper heliax.

Hi Barry and John,

Firstly again let me say I ordered a Lime freely and happily.

I am not in anyway complaining.

I just figured that not everyone will have been following the threads and it may save a lot of confusion during set up when they start arriving. If you know what to expect then you will not waste time wondering what you have done wrong so to speak.

Follow the links on these pages.

You will also see that there are some big names working on the improvements.

Again I want to state that I am not in anyway being negative against the product or the people at Lime or Crowd Supply.

Can you point me to other lists or web pages with additional details on

Guess i will wait until you fully support it with the software before I buy one (if at all). Lesson learned... patience needed. There will be plenty of "issues" to be worked on with the the Anan 8000 for a while. Will keep you busy my friend :-)

A dynamic range of well over 100 dB, at this price, sounds fantastic!
I am very curious about the technical concept.
