Re: Locking & Putting Into Remote New Icom Radio

Hi,

When running SDR software this is the way the ICOM R-8600 works, it’s either as a radio with Knobs on or a black box. I don’t know how WfView gets the waterfall data I’m afraid.

This is the document used for development: “IC-R8600, I/Q OUTPUT REFERENCE GUIDE”.

Subject: [SDR-Radio] Locking & Putting Into Remote New Icom Radio

Hi,

Have been using Console with a new Icom R8600.
Works well.  Really enjoy the program.

The one "problem" is that Console "locks" the receiver, and puts it into Remote mode.

Any way around this ?

In no way is this meant to be any kind of comparison, they are very different, but WfView
can control a lot of the radio functions, but not all, (no Memories, Scans, etc)
without putting the radio into Remote mode.

Would sure be nice if Console could be used without putting the radio into Remote, and it's "locking".

Any way ?

Bob
