There's a signal identification wiki on the web, www.sigidwiki.com. They have both spectral and audio examples of many types of digital and analog signals. They have signals characterized by frequency range (VLF, LF, HF, VHF, etc.), as well as by type (PSK, Radar, etc.). Those examples might help in identifying what type of signal it is.
