Simon,

A 4 square antenna setup, all spaced about 200’ apart would be the right setup. I have been using 2 Lankford Low Noise Verticals 200’ apart and a lankford phaser #2 and it works well. But it works better with the SDRPlay Duo. However, the Duo is not very good SDR.

I use my Norton amps at the base of the the 20’ LNVs and it works great.

We may have a 4 or even 8 channel phase-coherent rx this year – real rx beam forming…

Well,

You can do better on receive and quite frankly transmitting can be boring. Receiving’s where it’s at these days.

I figure the full up (non-Lite) Apache radio would be the cat's meow. I can TX as well as RX.

Of course, I should remind myself that a station made up of an optimized RX part and an optimized TX part has something to say for itself. I bet that's even more true for "ultimates" when digital is involved.

You really should save up your pension money and buy the S3. It’s really the dog’s dangly bits.

Loan is not not much bribery. Permanent loan is.

Let's see what Simon says.

Hello Simon

I've just been in contact with Richard Hillier and he would be happy to facilitate the loan of a G31 for you.

He just needs a delivery address. :-)

Larry,

I’m now getting to the stage where I have time for radios like the G31DDC. I have no idea if there are many out there in use these days, I don’t want to spend a few weeks coding away just for one or two users.

OK Thanks!

The Sigma is >$8k so can't afford that.
