As someone who makes a living off technology I note the shift from using technology to make our lives better whereas now tech is turned against us to track everything we do for the benefit of who knows what entities. But if you are thoughtful you can either not provide such info or generate such noise in the data that it is much less valuable. Be smart, not reactionary.
