Sorry for the Yellow, Simon!
It was that the installation did not start with preview 7 files.

I have resolved, but I do not know or understand why and what ...
It seems that I cannot run the installation as an Administrator !
So I changed user account, using the I2JJR account having no privilegies at all; and installed it OK : it shows as build 940 now.

All happened so:
- using account Administrator
I downloaded the install files from all the 3 sites: it does not make any difference.
The download was complete: the files were fully downloaded in all cases.
I saved the file  SDR-Radio V3, 64-bit,2017-10-23_1403.exe   in the destination folder:
        SSD (C:) > ProgramData > SDR-Radio
then i clicked twice on the file: it gives the round turning icon for about two seconds or less, then nothing else happens.
I did full reset, nothing.
I disinstalled all, still same behaviour.
I tried many times in order to get a precise , repeated error event on Windows " Visualizzatore Eventi" and endly found this message:

Attivazione dell'app Microsoft.Windows.Apprep.ChxApp_cw5n1h2txyewy:App.AppXc99k5qnnsvxj5szemm7fp3g7y08we5vm.mca
non riuscita con errore:
Impossibile attivare l'app in qualità di amministratore predefinito.
Per ulteriori informazioni, consulta il registro Microsoft-Windows-TWinUI/Operativo.

Sorry it is Italian, but means this:

Activating the app Microsoft.Windows.Apprep.ChxApp_cw5n1h2txyewy: App.AppXc99k5qnnsvxj5szemm7fp3g7y08we5vm.mca
failed with error:
Can not activate the app as its default administrator.

So, I changed the account ! I disconnected as Administrator.

- I logged in as I2JJR user (no privilegies) and try to install it.
This time I was asked if I want to run it, two time alerted, but endly it did and all went ok.
The V3 preview 7 runs as build 940, substituting the old build.
Then, on the I2JJR account it runs ok . Disconnected.

- I logged in as Administrator, and run SDR: OK, all is working fine, it autostarts and receive perfectly.

So at the end, all is again normal. I do not understand why using the administrator account it does not install; but anyway, all is over.
No report to upload, anyway.

You said the installation was unsuccessful but it ran for two seconds? If the installation did not finish then you probably did not download the whole program.

• What radio did you try?

OK, this morning I went back to this.

The old version runs smoothly, v3 build 811 64bit .

I downloaded the last version, tried to install it unsuccessfully.

It runs maybe two seconds, then finishes and stop. No messages, nothing.

I do not remember where to find a log of this installation, to see what happened.

Somebody may indicate me this? Thanks.

I lost my old version, that was OK ; the new will not run: no radios found!

I disinstalòled it all, and then reinstalled it: now it want to reinstall a Visual C++ redistributable that's already there, and stops.Microsoft site seems to have that anymore ...

Now I have no SDR 3 installed at all ... Amen.

Will try again tomorrow, maybe.

I tried to download the 64b /Ms version; does not run.

Downloaded and tried the 32 , installs OK, and runs a version 3 build 811 on an I5-6600 SSD Desktop with NVIDIA GTX1050 and 2 monitors; OS Windows 10pro,64 ; v.14393 .

Is the v3 build 811 the last one, freshly released?
