One feature I dont see on any software is effective scanning for vhf uhf Save a few dozen (or hundred) of your favourite spot frequencies (alpha numeric tagging would be good) and set the squelch an press go, just like a traditional scanner. Stop for 30 seconds when it hears something Also enter a lower frequency and upper frequency and step, and the radio will slide between them stopping when squelch is broken Oh of course this then leads to more requests, like auto save of active frequencies found, lock out of some spot frequencies or memories when scanning... it never ends. ___________ Another totally unrelated one. that brings to mind is step size. It would be nice to be able to set steps, 5KHZ/3khz/9-10/ 12.5/25 etc assign those steps to the favourites or just by logic automatically (if rxfreq is >500kHz and <1900KZ then step = 9khz (10 in USA) is what im thinking) Then have "step up/down" buttons. I use a laptop with no mouse so i have to click every 1kHz which on HF BCB the stations are 5 apart and v/uhf where the channels are 12.5 apart is up to 8 taps maybe some of this is available in some apps, im a clueless newbie 73 de jem vk2jem |
