If the problem is that your USB socket can’t supply enough current, maybe try another port on a different hub.

Your computer should have a couple of hubs on the motherboard. Maybe try it on a laptop?

There are also dual USB cables tied for extra current and used for older external USB hard drives.

Other than that exchange it (but I wouldn’t mention firmware).

Lots of far eastern stuff is not tested so that the manufacturer can cut his costs.

 it did start working again but it crashes very often and still when it is running  I cant even get fm broadcast ( I can only receive a signal from a foot away at 100mw)

 

it crashes in all the software and often will not start up

sdr console often HACKRF_ERROR_LIBUSB

sdr sharp = no device

hdsdr = no device

 

its looking like this board has some bad hardware as it is very unstable. 

however prior to the firmware reinstall/update I didnt get the "no device" or "HACKRF_ERROR_LIBUSB" problem

does anyone have any more ideas or maybe some other firmware? 

if not I will see if I can send it back for a replacement.
